Max's stay with us!

Well, Max went home this morning. I have to say its a little quieter in the house because he was the "baby" of the three dogs (even though he is the biggest) The kids absolutely loved having him here. Brody thought it was funny when we ate sand, bubbles, and Ruby's toys, he cried when he ran away and was mad when he wouldn't eat the treats he tried to feed him. Devin thought is was gross when he had to pick up poop, funny when max would be in the way, and silly that max thinks hes a tiny lap dog.

A little taste of Max's vacation at our house!

Having a little separation time from his friends!
 Hey, I'm taller then you!!
Devin not so thrilled about picking up dog poop!  I have to say he did a wonderful job and really tries to understand the responsibility of having pets! GO DEVIN!

Bubble Love

I don't care what age you are... everyone loves bubbles. On Friday afternoon Brody and I spent sometime outside in this beautiful weather we are having. Brody absolutely loves bubbles he could spend all day blowing, chasing, and popping them! It got me thinking why do kids (and adults) like bubbles so much.. there just bubbles?
Here are a few reasons I could think of.

1. They are shiny
2. They fly and float around
3. They are fun to chase after
4. "YOU CAN CATCH THEM IN YOUR MOUTH" (Brody says) eww!
5.They surprise you when they pop on your face
6. There silly and FUN!!

Seriously, I love watching kids play with bubbles its so cute how they giggle and laugh over them. Oh, how the small things in life make us happy!

Apparently if its above 55 degrees you are only required to wear a polo shirt with undies while playing outside....

Rainbow Rice (forgot to post this a while back)

Brody and I colored rice for his sensory "Table" ( Its not really a table but it sounds better then "sensory bin")
Thanks to my addiction to pinterest my husband now calls me "Martha stewart" I just love trying new things with my kiddos!

First we bought some rice in bulk at the grocery store.
We then seperated it by 3 cups in gallon zip lock bags and added 2 tablespoons of rubbing alochol and whatever amount of food coloring your heart desieres.
Then shake the bag until well mixed.
Lastly place on paper towels to dry. (only takes 10 min or so)

Green Thumb

Devin and Brody decided that they wanted to grow some flowers so, today we picked up two little flower kits. They had so much fun planting their seeds. Now we are just hoping for some sunshine and remember to water them! I hope this means that this summer when I plant my flowers they will be pros and lend me a hand!

We put their names on their flower pots. Brody refers to himself as "Brody James" and Devin likes us to call him "DJ"

Devin is planting his "forget me not's"

Brody is planting his "Daisy's"

My life for the next week..

We are watching Ted's parents dog Max for a week... This means I will have 3 dogs, 2 kids, and a husband to care for!!! I'm excited about Max's stay with us.. he's only been here for an hour though...... So, I will update in about a week on how it all went! (last time he ate our trampoline cover and sat in a lawn chair.)

Here goes nothing...

A little outside fun..

I haven't been feeling good for the past 3 days. Thankfully the boys are getting along so well. They are both splashing around in the bath tub right now which makes it possible for me to be writing this. Here are some pictures of them enjoying their afternoon outside.

Rio Movie Adventure

Devin got to pick what we did for Family night this week. He decided he would like to have a "family movie night." I wanted to make it a little more interesting then normal so here it goes.

We started off with Devin's favorite dinner " Breakfast for Dinner" I made pancakes and added food coloring to make Red, Blue, and Yellow.. the colors from the movie!

I put feathers on the table and said " when I was cooking dinner blue and his friends stopped by and their feathers fell off." The kids loved it!

Here is a picture of our snacks. (sorry kind of dark) We called the popcorn "fluffy snow from Moose Lake Minnesota" The margarita cups were "Bird Baths with special blue flying juice" (blue Gatorade) and the bowl has "bird seed with worms" (Pistachio's, M&M's, and gummy worms) I added a few feathers for fun!
Angry Bird shirts and some parrot sunglasses from the dollar store ( I popped the lenses out so they could wear them while we watched the movie)

It was a great night! I feel so blessed to have two wonderful boys who I enjoy spending my time with!
